For years, we worked inside the assessment and local government technology space—supporting offices, navigating vendor ecosystems, and seeing firsthand how difficult it is to make the right decisions in an environment full of competing priorities, limited time, and constant change.

We saw the same challenges over and over:

That’s why we started Heyman Advisors.

We are a local government-first advisory firm focused on helping assessment offices and local government departments make better decisions, reduce operational risk, and get more value out of the systems and processes they rely on every day.

We don’t sell software or push products. We work entirely on your side of the table—bringing independent judgment, industry-specific expertise, and a practical understanding of how these offices actually operate.

Our Story

 Heyman Advisors is a comprehensive local government consulting firm. The founding members have 30 years of experience working in the local government space assisting assessor's offices, public works departments, and public safety with technological purchases and integrations. Heyman is a resource for each local government office for knowledge and services ranging from advising on emerging technologies, to writing and reviewing RFPs, to collective negotiations for enterprise-level purchasing. 


The name, Heyman Advisors, is a nod to an old friend who was a titan in the industry. He mentored many in the local government industry. He was a professional talker who had no hate in his heart for anyone or anything. He could be rough around the edges, said anything that came to his mind, and sometimes ruffled some feathers (unintentionally), but that was all part of his charm. He was a staunch supporter of country and family and would give anyone the shirt off his back. He was a supporter of others, a mentor to many, and a friend to all that knew him. He had a signature phrase when he would call someone on the phone. When they answered, he would say "Hey Man" in his characteristic voice, and it would come out like one word - "HeyMan." That's how we got the name for the company. Our friend passed away on October 16th, 2022, but his legacy lives on through all those whose lives he touched. 


To make a long story short, the business is about helping people. Connecting local government officials with resources and knowledge, and filling gaps that so many are facing in today's economy. It's what our friend did, and it's what we want to do.

A devoted family man, Matt is married with three children and enjoys spending time outdoors, especially when it involves a good round of golf.
